The flag of San Diego consists of three vertical bands, colored from left to right, dark red, white and yellow. The central white band carries the city seal which carries the words "The City of San Diego, State of California, Semper vigilans". The Latin motto means "ever vigilant". Under the seal is the number 1542, the year in which Juan RodrÃguez Cabrillo claimed the area for the Spanish Empire.
Most mass-produced flags are commonly 150x90cm / 5x3' or 90x60cm / 3x2', which will often vary from the official size ratio. We now offer a custom-manufactured official size option for our many of our flags.
